Explanatory Note.
(This Note is not part of the order, but is intended
to indicate its general purport).
This order amends the Schedule to the Fugitive Offenders (Designated Commonwealth Countries) Order-
(a) by providing that certain dependencies of Australia and Now
Zealand shall be treated as part of Australia or New Zealand;
(6) by designating, pursuant to section 2(4) of the Fugidve Offenders Act 1967, The Cook Islands (for whose external relations New Zealand is responsible) as a separate country;
(c) by including a reference to Tonga, which is now an independent
country within the Commonwealth.

FUGITIVE OFFENDERS (UNITED KINGDOM DEPENDENCIES) (AMENDMENT) ORDER 1970.
In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 2(1) and 20 of the Fugitive Offenders Act 1967 (as modified and adapted by the Fugitive Offenders (Hong Kong) Order 1967), the Acting Governor, with the approval of the Secretary of State, has made the following order-

This order may be cited as the Fugitive Offenders (United Kingdom Dependencies) (Amendment) Order 1970.
The Schedule to the principal order is amended by deleting the following-
