IMMIGRATION (CONTROL AND OFFENCES) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 1970.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 47 of the Immigration (Control and Offences) Ordinance, the Governor in Council has made the following regulations-

1. These regulations may be cited as the Immigration (Control and Offences) (Amendment) Regulations 1970.

Regulation 9 of the principal regulations is amended— (a) in paragraph (1) by deleting "emergency certificate" and

substituting the following-

"emergency passport";

(b) by deleting paragraph (2) and substituting the following- "(2) Any certificate of identity issued under this regulation, shall be valid-

(4) for a period of five years from the date of issue thereof and shall be renewable for one further period of five years; or (b) for one journey out of the Colony and a subsequent return journey to the Colony within a period of twelve months from the date of issue thereof.

(3) An emergency passport issued under this regulation shall be valid for a period not exceeding twelve months from the date of issue thereof.".

3. Regulation 11 of the principal regulations is revoked.

Regulation 13 of the principal regulations is amended- by deleting paragraphs (1) and (2) and substituting the following-

“(1) The Director may issue to any person, on payment of the prescribed fee, a re-entry permit which shall be valid—

(a) for a period of five years from the date of issue thereof and shall be renewable for one further period of five years; or
