5. Regulation 12 of the principal regulations is amended in paragraph (g)
(u) by deleting “alcobol" and substituting the following---
"ethyl alcohol and methyl alcohol"; and
(6) by deleting “Governor in Council” and substituting the
following-

Regulation 20 of the principal regulations is amended- (a) in sub-sub-paragraph (1) of sub-paragraph (b) of para-
graph (2), by inserting after "high" the following-
", unless the Director otherwise permits under para- graph (1) of regulation 6": and
(b) in sub-sub-paragraph (1) of sub-paragraph (a) of para- graph (3), by inserting after “imported or" the following—
" in the case of manufactured goods,”.
Amendment of regulation 22.

Regulation 22 of the principal regulations is amended-
(a) in paragraph (4), by deleting "or purser of the ship, or by the person in command or the chief steward" and substituting the following-
"of the ship, or by the person in charge"; and
(b) in paragraph (7). by deleting "alcohol". wherever it occurs and substituting in each case the following-
"ethyl alcohol or methyl alcohol",
Amendment of regulation 27.

Regulation 27 of the principal regulations is amended-
(a) by being renumbered as paragraph (1); and (b) by inserting the following new paragraphs-
"(2) Upon any failure to observe any obligation specified in paragraph (1) the security furnished shall be forfeited to the Crown, without prejudice to any other penalty which may be imposed.
(3) Notwithstanding paragraph (2), the Governor in Council may in his absolute discretion entertain and give effect to any moral claim in respect of any security so forfeited.".

9. The principal regulations are amended by inserting in Part VI after regulation 27 the following-
*Power to grant or
Panew Licences for short periods.
27A. Where it is proposed to grant or renew a licence to a person who is the holder of some other licence, the first-mentioned licence may be granted or renewed for any period less than one year in order That both licences shall expire on the same day.”.
10. Regulation 38 of the principal regulations is amended by inserting in sub-paragraph (a) of paragraph (6) after “heating" the following-
"and cooling equipment".
11. Regulation 55 of the principal regulations is amended by deleting “fermenting mash” in paragraph (3) and substituting the following-
"fermented or fermenting materials”.

(a)
Regulation 58 of the principal regulations is amended—
in paragraph (1)–
(i) by deleting "as soon as fermentation is complete, but in any event within the times" and substituting the following-
"immediately upon the expiration of the periods": and
(i) by deleting "Molasses." in the Table and sub- scituting
"Sugar or molasses or an admixture of either."; and (6) in paragraph (2), by deleting sub-paragraph (a) and sub-
stituting the following-
"(a) in the case of sugar or molasses or an admixture
of sugar or molasses, from the first mixing of the sugar or molasses or the admixture with rice tailings or other ferment:".
13. Regulation 61 of the principal regulations is amended by deleting paragraph (2) and substituting the following—
"(2) Every distiller shall keep a record of the name and address of each person employed by him in a distillery, the number of his identity card and particulars of the commence- ment of, absence from, return to and termination of bis employment, and shall also keep a photograph of each such person.".
