(b) deleting "paragraph (f)" from the definition of "due

inquiry" and substituting therefor the following—

"paragraph (A)";

(c) inserting after the definition of "due inquiry" the follow-

ing definition-

""Legal Adviser" means the person appointed to be Legal Adviser to the Council under section, 41%

(d) deleting the fullstop at the end of the definition of "repealed Ordinance" and substituting therefor a semi- colon; and

(e) inserting after the definition of "repealed Ordinance" the

following definition-

'Secretary" means the Secretary of the Council

appointed under section 4.”.

Section 3 of the principal Ordinance is amended by deleting "paragraph (0" from subsection (1) and substituting therefor the following-

"paragraph (D)",

Section 18 of the principal Ordinance is amended in sub- section (1) by inserting the following after "inquiry"—

"into any case referred to it by the Preliminary Investigation Committee in accordance with regulations made under section

5. Section 29 of the principal Ordinance is amended by deleting paragraphs (f), (g), (4), (♪) and (f) and substituting therefor the following paragraphs—

"(f) the receipt of complaints or information about any regis- tered dentist or any applicant for registration and the establishment of a committee to be known as the Preliminary Investigation Committee to make a prelimin- ary investigation into any such complaint or information and to determine whether or not there shall be an inquiry under section 18;

(g) the prohibition of a member of the Preliminary Investiga- tion Committee who is also a member of the Council from attending any meeting of the Council whilst it is inquiring under section 18 into a complaint or informa- tion, in the preliminary investigation of which he took part:

(6) the procedure to be followed in relation to-

(i) the submission of complaints and information to the Preliminary Investigation Committee:

(i) the preliminary investigation of any complaint or information by the Preliminary Investigation Committee; (ii) the formulation of charges arising out of com- plaints and information;

(iv) the reference to the Council by the Preliminary Investigation Committee of cases arising out of complaints or information;

(v) inquiries held by the Council under this Ordin-

ance:

() any certificate, form or other documcot required for

carrying out the purposes of this Ordinance:

( the duties of the Legal Adviser to the Council; (k) the duties of the Secretary of the Council;

(D) the establishment of classes of ancillary dental workers to undertake dental work of kinds prescribed by the regulations, being dental work amounting to the practice of dentistry, within the meaning of subsection (2) of section 2, and in particular-

(1) the qualifications for becoming a member of any such class;

(i) the dental work which a member of any such class may undertake and the conditions, if any, under which he may do so;

(ii) the establishment of a roll or record of such classes, and

(iv) the title to be used by a member of any such class indicating his membership thereof; and

(m) generally, the carrying into effect of the provisions of

this Ordinance.”.

This printed Impression has been carefully compared by me with the Bill which passed the Legislative Council on the 13th day of March. 1968, and is found by me to be a true and correctly printed copy of the said Bill.
