that the person reside in a mental hospital for the purposes of obser- vation, investigation and treatment for such period, within the period specified in the recognizance, as may be required by the examining medical officer or medical practi- tioner.
(d) Notwithstanding any other provi- sion of this Ordinance, where arrangements have been made for the reception of any person 50 required to reside at a mental hospital for the purposes of any observation, investigation and treat- ment he may be admitted to the mental hospital.
(e) Where a court or magistrate is satisfied by information on oath that a person admitted to bail under paragraph (a) has failed to observe any of the conditions of the recog- nizance taken under this subsection the court or magistrate may issue a warrant for the apprehension of the person; and the recognizance may be enforced in like manner, as a recognizance may be enforced under the Criminal Procedure Ordinance or under Part II of the Magistrates Ordinance, as the case may be."; and
(c) by deleting (1) or (2)" from subsection (3) and sub-
stituting therefor the following-
*(1), (1A) or (2)".

An Ordinance to amend the Summary Offences Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.
1 This Ordinance may be cited as the Summary Offences (Amendment) Ordinance 1968.
2. The principal Ordinance is amended by adding after section 6 the following new section-
"Tooting.
6A. (1) Any person who in a public place, to the annoyance of or in a manner likely to annoy any other person, importunes such person to buy any article or thing or to give his custom to any business, whether or not the article or thing is offered for sale, or the business is carried on, by such first-mentioned person. shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine of one thousand dollars.
