UNIVERSITY OF HONG KONG ORDINANCE. (Chapter 1053).
STATUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY (AMENDMENT) STATUTES 1968.
In exercise of the powers conferred by subsection (2) of section 13 of the University of Hong Kong Ordinance, the Chancellor of the University of Hong Kong has made the following statutes-
1. These statutes may be cited as the Statues of the Univer- sity (Amendment) Statutes 1968.
Citation
Statute 1 of the principal Statutes is amended by inserting Amendment of the following after ““Chancellor"."-

3. Statute II of the principal Statutes is amended by deleting Amendment of paragraph 2 and substituting-
2. The Chancellor, or in his absence the Pro-Chancellor or in the absence of both of them the Vice-Chancellor, shall preside at congregations.".
4. Statute III of the principal Statutes is amended by deleting paragraph 3 and substituting-
**3. Degrees shall be conferred by the Chancellor, or in his absence by the Pro-Chancellor, or in the absence of both of them by the Vice-Chancellor, at congregations of the whole University.".

The principal Statutes are amended by adding the follow- ing new statute after Statute IV—
“STATUTE IVA.
THE PRO-CHANCELLOR.
1. The Pro-Chancellor may, on the authorization of the Chancellor and on his behalf, exercise any of the powers or perform any of the duties conferred or imposed on the Chan- cellor by the statutes.
2. The Pro-Chancellor may resign by written notice addressed to the Chancellor.”.
