FACTORIES AND INDUSTRIAL UNDERTAKINGS (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 1967.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 7 of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance, the Commis- sioner of Labour has made the following regulations-
1. These regulations may be cited as the Factories and Industrial Undertakings (Amendment) Regulations 1967.
2. (1) Regulations 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 shall come into operation on the lat day of December 1967.
(2) Regulations 6 and 7 shall come into operation on the 1st day of December 1968.
(3) Regulations 8 and 9 shall come into operation on the 1st day of December 1969.
(4) Regulations 10 and II shall come into operation on the 1st day of December 1970.
(5) Regulations 12 and 13 shall come into operation on the 1st day of December 1971.
3. Regulation 9 of the principal regulations is revoked and replaced by the following-
"General conditions
as to hours of employ- ment of
women and young persons.
9. (1) Subject to the provisions of this Part, no proprietor shall employ any woman or young person in any industrial undertaking unless the working bours, the period of employment and the intervals for meals and rest for such woman or young person conform to the following conditions, namely——
(a) the total hours worked shall-
(0) in the case of any young person under the age of sixteen, neither exceed eight in any day nor exceed forty-eight in any week; or
(ii) in any other case, neither exceed nine and a half in any day nor exceed fifty-seven in any week;
