An Ordinance further to amend the Workmen's Compensation Ordin-

ance 1953.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows-

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Workmen's Compensation Short tide. (Amendment) Ordinance 1965.

2. Section 5 of the Workmen's Compensation Ordinance 1953 Amendment (hereinafter referred to as the principal Ordinance) is amended, in of section 6. paragraph (a), by the deletion of the words "be a sum equal to thirty- (28 af 1953). six months' earnings or ten thousand dollars" and the substitution therefor of the following--

where the accident happens before the 1st day of May, 1965, be a sum equal to thirty-six months earnings or ten thousand dollars, whichever is less, and shall, where the accident happens on or after the 1st day of May, 1965, be a sum equal to thirty-six months' earnings or eighteen thousand dollars,"
