An Ordinance further to amend the Fire Services Ordinance, 1954.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and
consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Fire Services (Amendment) Short title. Ordinance, 1964.
The long title of the Fire Services Ordinance, 1954 (berein- Amendment after referred to as the principal Ordinance) is amended by the insertion, at the
long title. after the word "provision" where it occurs for the second time, of the following-
"for the prevention of fire hazards and".

3. Section 2 of the principal Ordinance is amended by the inser. Amendment tion, in the appropriate place in the alphabetical order having regard to of section 2. the initial letter of each of them, of the following definitions-

****fire hazard" means-
(a) any alteration to any building in contravention of the Buildings Ordinance. 1955, such as might render escape in the event of fire or other calamity materially more difficult;
