BY HIS EXCELLENCY SIR DAVID CLIVE CROSBIE TRENCH, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, upon whom has been conferred the Decoration of the Military Cross, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hong Kong and its Dependencies and Vice-Admiral of the same.

WHEREAS by section 1 of the Banking Ordinance, 1964 (No. 30 of 1964), it is provided that the said Ordinance shall not come into operation unless and until Her Majesty's pleasure has been signified thereupon and thereafter it shall come into operation on such day as the Governor may by Proclamation appoint:

AND WHEREAS Her Mejesty's pleasure has now been signified and the power of disallowance will not be exercised in respect of the said Ordinance:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DAVID CLIVE CROSBIE TRENCH, do bereby PROCLAIM that the said Ordinance shall come into operation on the 1st day of December, 1964.
