of the Supreme Court may, whether before or after the expiration of such period, allow, an application may be made in writing to the District Judge to state a case setting forth the facts and the grounds on which the verdict or order was arrived at or made and the grounds on which the proceeding is questioned for the opinion of the Full Court; and the provisions of sections 104 to 107 inclusive of the Magistrates Ordinance shall apply, mutatis mutandis, to the preparation, amendment and setting down of such case stated:
(b) following such application a Judge of the Supreme Court may, on application being made to him in Chambers, issue a warrant addressed to police officers directing that the respondent be arrested and brought before him, and may commit the res- pondent to prison pending the disposal of the appeal or admit him to bail":
(c) at the hearing of the appeal, whether or not the
respondent appears, the Full Court shail---
(i) if it is satisfied that there is no sufficient ground for interfering, dismiss the appeal; or
(ii) reverse the verdict or order and direct that the trial be resumed or that the accused be re- tried as the case may be, or find him guilty, record a conviction and pass such sentence on him as might have been passed on him by a District Judge; and
(iii) give all such necessary and consequential directions as it shall think ült.".
This printed impression has been carefully compared by me with the Bill which passed the Legislative Council on the 12th day of September, 1962, and is found by me to be a true and correctly printed copy of the said Bill.

An Ordinance to amend the Gambling Ordinance, Chapter 148.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Gambling (Amendment) Short title. Ordinance, 1962.
2. The Gambling Ordinance is amended by the addition, after Adallion of section 9, of the following new section—

9A. (1) The provisions of this section shall have effect for the purpose of permitting the provision of amusements with prizes on any premises licensed as a place of public entertainment under section 3 of the Places of Public Enter- tainment Ordinance in respect of which a permit for the * & Bliz 2, provision thereon of such amusements bas been granted by the Commissioner of Police under this subsection and both licence and permit are for the time being in force.
