The principal Ordinance is amended by the deletion of the word "Commandant" whenever it appears, except in section 29 and section 35, and the substitution therefor of the following-
*Commanding Officer“.
4. Subsection (3) of section 5 of the principal Ordinance is amended-
(a) by the deletion of paragraph (4); }

(b) by the deletion of paragraph (6) and the substitution therefor
of the following-
"(c) a military unit to be known as the Hong Kong Regiment (The Volunteers) and the officer for the time being discharging the duties of General or other Officer Communding, Land Forces, Hong Kong shall be the Service Commander thereof; this unit may include a Home Guard Company": and
(c) by the deletion of paragraph (e),
Repeal of Part III.

Part III of the principal Ordinance is repealed.

Amendment
of section 14.
Amendment
Section 24 of the principal Ordinance is amended-

(b) in subsection (4) by the deletion from paragraph (c) of the
words "who will inform the Commandant”.

Section 26 of the principal Ordinance is amended by the

8. (a)
Section 29 of the principal Ordinance is amended-
by the deletion of the word "Commandant", in the first place where it occurs, and the substitution therefor of the following-
"the Commanding Officers of the Hong Kong Royal Naval Reserve, the Hong Kong Regiment (The Volunteers) and the Hong Kong Auxiliary Air Force jointly as trustees.". (b) by the deletion of the word "him" and the substitution therefor
of the following-

(c) by the insertion of a full stop after the word "thereto" and
the deletion of the remaining words of the section; and
(d) by the deletion from the marginal note of the words "in
Commandant.
9.
Section 32 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by the Amendment deletion of the words "Commandant's Welfare Fund" and the substitu- of section 32. tion therefor of the following-
"general revenue”,
10. Section 35 of the principal Ordinance is amended-
(a) by the deletion of the words "the Commandant" and the sub-
stitution therefor of the following-
"each Commanding Officer'"; and
(b) by the deletion of the words "the Force", in the first place where they occur, and the substitution therefor of the following-
"his unit"".
Amendment
of section 35.
I. (1) Where, in any regulation made under the principal Ordin- Regulations: ance, there is a provision requiring the advice, consent, confirmation, Provisions

to powers, whatsoever, then, on the commencement of this Ordinance, such provi- etc, of Com sion shall cease to have effect,
(2) Where, in any regulations made under the principal Ordinance. there is a provision giving power to the Commandant to do any act or to perform any duty or function, other than those referred to in sub- section (1), then, on the commencement of this Ordinance, such power shall be exercised by the Governor.
(3) Where, in any regulations made under the principal Ordinance. there is a provision tequiring a Commanding Officer to be responsible to the Commandant for the discharge of any act or duty, then, on the commencement of this Ordinance, such Commanding Officer shall be so responsible to the Governor.
12, The Force Headquarters Regulations are revoked.
