Mr. Kwok Chan, pursuant to notice, will ask the following question :-

In view of the puolic concern diaplayed over the circumstances in which six young people, apprehended while gotoring the Colony, were recently returned to Ohina, will Government wake a statement Do its immigration policy geodirally ?

GOVERNMENT BUSINESS.

(1) Urban Council (Comissioner for Resettlement) Ordinance, 1954.

The Colonial Secretary to move the following resolution :~

Resolved, pursuant to section 3 of the Urean Council

(Comlesioner for Resettlement) Ozdinance, 1954, that the duration of the said Ordinance be extended for the term of one year with effect from the 30th day of April, 1962.

(2) Pensions (Amendment) Regulations, 1962.

The Colonial Secretary to move the following resolutioɑ :-

Resolved, pursuant to section 5(3) of the Pensions Ordinance,

that the Pansions (Amendment) Regulations, 1962, made by the Governor in Council on the 27th day of March, 1962, wader section 3(1) of the Pensions Ordinance, be approved,

(3) Supplementary Frovisions for the quarter ended 31as Deccabor, 1961

The Financial Secretary to move the following resolution :-

Resolved that the Supplementary Provisions for the Quarter

ended 31st December, 1961, as set out in Schedule No. 3 of 1961-62, be approved,

(4) Delegation of Pinsocial Fowers

The Financial Secretary to move the following resolution :-

(1) that expenditure additional to annual estimates es finally

approved by this Council relating to services which gould not have been foreseen and cannot be postponed without detriment to the public service and which is not of such a Dature as to raise stoe questing of principle or involve a breach of some regulation may be authorised by the Governor up to the limits get out in the Schedule here to pending covering approval by the Finance Committee of this Council (2) that expenditure as aforesaid in exess of the limits set

out in the Schedule hare to may be authorised by the Governor and covering approval of Finance Committee obtained at the earliest opportunity thereafter, if it is essential in the public interest that such additional provision should be authorised at once, but in other cases the prior approval of the Finance Committee of this Council shall be obtained;
