QUESTIONS

Mr. Fung Ping-fan, pursuant to notice, will ask the following questions :-

(a) Will Government inform this Council what amount of damage

has been caused to properties, and the number of lives lost as a direct or indirect result of indiscriminate discharge of orackers during the recent Chinese New Year celebrations ?

(b) Will Coverment be good enough to assure the public that steps will be taken to exercise suriotar oputrol over the discharge of orackers ?

GOVERNMENT BUSINESS,

(1) Resolution regarding the draft Estimates of Revenue and

Expenditure for 1962-63.

The Financial Secretary to move the following resolution :-

Resolved that the draft Estimates of Revenue and Expenditur a

for 1962-63 be referred to a Select Committee composed of the Colonial Secretary (Chairman), the Financial Secr a tazy and all the Unofficial Members.

(2) Legal Aid in Criminal Cases Rules, 1962.

The Attorney General to move the following resolution :-

Resolved that the Legal Aid in Criminal Cases Rules, 1962, made by the Chief Justice on the 30th day of January, 1962, under section 9 of the Criminal Procedura Ordinance, be approved.

(3) Quarantine and Freyention of Disease (Amendment) 111, 1962.

The Attorney General to move the First reading of :-

A Bill intituled: "Ao Ordinance to amend the Quarantine and

Prevention of Disease Ordinanos, Chapter 141."

(4) Housing (Amendment) Bill, 1962,

The Colonial Secretary to move the Second and Third readings of :-

A 3111 intituled: "An Ordinance to amend the Housing Ordinance,

1954."
