Explanatory Note.
(This Nate is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general purport).
In 1949 a Committee was appointed to inquire into and advise the Government concerning the administration of the Dangerous Goods Ordinance, 1873, and regulations made thereunder, and other Ordinances and regulations dealing with dangerous goods. These recommendations were set out in drøft regulations which were summarized and explained in a report and which were partially implemented by the Dangerous Goods (Classification) Regulations, 1956, and the Dangerous Goods (Shipping) Regulations, 1956. These regulations deal Benerally with the possession, storage, conveyance and packing of dangerous goods and complete the legislation giving effect to the Committee's recommenda- Lioner.
