LAUNDRIES (Amendment) BY-LAWS, 1962.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 40 of the Public Health and Urban Services Ordinance, 1960, the Urban Council has made the following by-laws-

3. In these by-laws, unless the context otherwise by-law 3. requires "Council” means the Urban Council;

"hospital" means any premises used for the reception and treatment of persons suffering from illness or mental defectiveness, any maternity home and any institution for the reception and treatment of persons during con- valescence or of persons requiring mental rehabilitation: "laundering" means the washing, dry-cleaning, ironing,

pressing or otherwise the getting up of clothing: "laundry" means any premises at which there is carried on any business involving the washing, dry-cleaning. ironing, pressing or otherwise the getting up of clothing: and includes a laundry depot but does not include any laundry operated by a school or a hospital or a bome for the reception of aged or disabled persons for the purposes of such school, bospital or home or for the convenience of the inmates or the staff thereof; "laundry depor" means any premises, not being part of a laundry, at which there is carried on any business in- volving the storage, or reception of articles for launder- lag or the storage or distribution of articles after laun- dering, whether or not such business constitutes part of or is carried on ia connexion with the business of a laundry;

"premises" includes place.".
