(b) in sub-paragraph (2) of paragraph (1), by the deletion of the words "whose names appeared on the last previous final register" and the substitution therefor of the following—
"whose names appeared on the last previous final register and have not since been removed therefrom in accordance with regulation SA":
(c) in sub-paragraph (b) of paragraph (1) by the deletion of the word “August" and the substitution therefor of the following-
"September": and
(d) by the deletion of sub-paragraph (c) of paragraph (1).

Regulation 5A of the principal regulations is amended by the deletion of paragraph (4).

Regulation 6 of the principal regulations is amended-
(a) in paragraph (1) by the deletion of the words "on or befors the 1st day of September in each alternate year thereafter* and the substitution therefor of the following-
"on or before the 1st day of October in each allemate year thereafter":
(b) by the deletion of sub-paragraph (a) of paragraph (1) and the
substitution therefor of the following-
"(a) the provisional register is available for inspection free
of charge at the address stipulated in such not between the hours of 9 a.m. and I p.. and 2 poz and 5 p.m. on every week-day, not being a public holiday or a Saturday, up to and including the nex following 14th day of October; and":
(c) in sub-paragraph (b) of paragraph (1)—–—
(i) by the deletion of the words "for registration as un elector" and the substitution therefor of the following-
"to have his name included in the final register"; and (i) by the deletion after the word "Form" of the figure and the substitution therefor of the following-

(d) by the deletion of sub-paragraph (ɗ); and
(e) by the addition after paragraph (3) of the following new
paragraph-
"(4) Forms of application for inclusion in the final register or forms of notice of objection, as the case may be, may be lodged with the registration officer at any

time between the publication of the provisional register and the 14th day of October in any year in which such provisional register is published in accordance with regula- tion 5:
Provided that no form of application for inclusion in the final register may be lodged with the registration officer except by the hand of the person applying for inclusion in such register; and the registration officer may in his discretion call upon such person to identify himself by such means as the registration officer may consider expedient.".
* Regulation 7 of the principal regulations is amended by the Amendment deletion of paragraphs 1 and 1A and the substitution therefor of the of regula following new paragraph-
(0) If the registration officer receives an application in accordance with regulation 3 for inclusion in the provisional register
or an application in accordance with regulation 6 for inclusion in
the final register, he shall, so soon as may be, either-
(2) rule that the applicant is entitled to be registered; (b) rule that the applicant is not entitled to be registered; or (c) refer the application back to the applicant for further particulars or for further proof of his entitlement to registration.".

7. Regulation 9 of the principal regulations is amended by the Amendment deletion of paragraph (a) and the substitution therefor of the following of regala-
"(6) the name and address of any person who has lodged an application in accordance with regulation 3 for inclusion in the provisional register or who has lodged an applica- tion in accordance with regulation 5 for inclusion in the final register and whose application bas been rejected by the registration officer;",
8. The Appendix to the principal regulations is amended—
(a) in Form 2 by the deletion of the heading "Application for Registration as an Elector (29/#0###)" and the sub- stitution therefor of the following heading-
"Application for inclusion in the Provisional Register of Electors (##ASIĄŻE408)",
