An Ordinance to amend the Marriage Ordinance, Chapter 181.
[22nd January, 1960.]
BF it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Marriage (Amendment) Shon tide. Ordinance, 1960.
2. The Long Title to the Marriage Ordinance (hereinafter referred Replacement
DE Long to as the principal Ordinance} is deleted and replaced by the following- Title.
"To provide for the celebration of Christian marriages or the (Cap. 181).
civil equivalent thereof, and for matters connected therewith.".
3. Section 6 of the principal Ordinance is amended by the Amendment insertion therein, at the end of the word "person", of the letter "g".
4. Section 9 of the principal Ordinance is amended by-
(a) the deletion therefrom of the words and brackets "(except
when the Governor grants a licence)":
of scetion 6.
Amendment of pection 9.
(b) the deletion from the end thereof of the full stop and the
substitution therefor of a colon; and
