(c) the addition thereto, in the appropriate place having regard to the initial letter of each of them, of the following defini- tions--

"health officer" means the Director of Medical and Health Services, the Deputy Director of Medical and Health Services, any Assistant Director of Medical and Health Services, any person appointed by the Governor to be a health officer and any person for the time being per- forming the duties of a health officer:

"inspector" means any person appointed as an inspector

under section 18;".

3. The principal Ordinance is amended by the addition, at the end thereof, of the following new part-

16. For any of the purposes of this Ordinance or any regulations made thereunder or for the purpose of ascert taining whether or not the provisions of this Ordinance of of any such regulations of the terms or conditions of any licence or registration granted or made thereunder are being or have been complied with, the Director, the Senior Velts inary Officer and any veterinary officer, assistant veterinar), officer, health officer or inspector may, at any time during the bours of daylight, enter and, where necessary, in the presence of a police officer, break into any premises other than premises, or any part of any premises, used exclusively as a dwelling-house.

17. Any person who obstructs or resists the Director, the Senior Veterinary Officer, any veterinary officer, assist ant veterinary officer, health officer or inspector in the exercise of any power conferred upon him by this Ordin ance or any regulations made thereunder shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine of one thousand dollars and to imprisonment for three months.

18. The Governor may appoint any public officers to be inspectors for the purposes of this Ordinance and the regulations made thereunder.".

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows-
