An Ordinance to amend the Companies Ordinance, Chapter 32.

Br it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice
and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows-

This Ordinance may be cited as the Companies (Amend- Short title ment) Ordinance, 1958, and shall come into operation on the day and com appointed for the commencement of the Charities (Land Acquisi- tion) Ordinance, 1958.
2. Section 17 of the Companies Ordinance (hereinafter Amandment referred to as the principal Ordinance) is amended-
(a) by the deletion of the proviso to subsection (1) and the
substitution therefor of the following-
"Provided that a company formed primarily for any charitable purpose within the meaning of section a of the Charities (Land Acquisition) Ordinance,
of section 17.
(Cap. 32).
