3. The principal Ordinance is amended by the insertion section 59A, after section 59 of the following new section-

Repeal of the Vaccination Ordinance, 1923.
(12 of 1923).
"Power to require evidence of protection against smallpox
in certain CAMAN.
BBA. (1) Notwithstanding anything contained in sections 58 and 59, it shall be lawful for a health officer to require any person arriving in the Colony by vessel, aircraft or by any other means, who does not show evidence of having previously suffered front smallpox, to produce a valid international certificate of vaccination against smallpox.
(2) If any person, when so required under sub- section (1), fails to produce such valid international. certificate the health officer shall offer him vaccination free of charge; and if such person refuses to be vaccinated the health officer may place him undet surveillance for a period not exceeding fourteen days reckoned from the date of his departure from the last territory before arrival in the Colony?'.
4. The Vaccination Ordinance, 1923, is repealed.

An Ordinance to amend the Maintenance Orders (Facilities for
Enforcement) Ordinance, Chapter 13.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Maintenance Orders Short title. Facilities for Enforcement) (Amendment) Ordinance, 1958.

2. Section 1a of the Maintenance Orders (Facilities for Amendment Enforcement) Ordinance is amended by the deletion of the full of section stop at the end thereof and the addition thereafter of the (Cap. 15). following-
"or to the competent authority appointed under the law of such possession or territory for the receipt and trans- mission of maintenance orders.".
