An Ordinance to amend the law relating to the acquisition and holding of land by charities and to make provision for purposes connected therewith.

By it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Charities (Land Sbort title Acquisition) Ordinance, 1958, and shall come into operation on a day to be appointed by the Governor by Proclamation in the Gaselte.

2. In this Ordinance, unless the context offerwise requires Inter-
pretation. "assurance" includes a gift, grant, conveyance, assignment, appointment, lease, transfer, settlement, mortgage, charge, incumbrance, devise, bequest and every other assurance by deed, will or other instrument;
