Explanatory Note.

(This Note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general purport),

1

These regulations are consequential upon the passing of the Dutiable Commodities (Amendment) Ordinance, 1957, which brought the substance methyl alcohol under the provisions of that Ordinance in order, owing to its poisonous qualities, to allow of its being properly controlled. These regulations are introduced to provide for the necessary licensing and the Imposition of appropriate fees. As the purpose of the Dutiable Comroodities (Amendment) Ordinance, 1957, was not the raising of revenue but the control of the substance the fees prescribed in these regulations are nominal.
