46. (1) When applying for a licence for a water boat, the applicant shall produce to the Director a certificate from the Assistant Director of Marine (Ship Surveys) certifying that the hull, tanks, piping and all other fittings are in good condition. No licence shall be issued to any water boat unless that boot is constructed of steel.

(a) Except with the written permission of the Director of Medical and Health Services, no water shall be taken into any water boat from any source other than the Government Water- works at Aberdeen, Lai Chi Kok, Shaukiwan or the Taikoo Sugar Refinery at Quarry Bay. Such permission will be given only for limited periods in the discretion of the Director of Medical and Health Services.

Class III, Class IV and Class P Vessels.

47. The Director may, on occasion, permit persons other than the crew to be on board vessels of Classes III, IV and V provided that the number of persons so permitted shall not exceed the number which would be allowed if the vessel were licensed to carry passengers and measured in accordance with regulation

Class VI Vessels.

48. Ou no occasion, except in the case of shipwreck, fire, or other emergency, shall passengers be carried in Class VI vessels.

PART VI.

MISCELLANEOUS,

49. Contravention of any of the regulations 4, 7, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34(2), 35, 36, 37, 39. 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46(2) and 48 shall be an offence rendering the master of the contravening vessel liable, on conviction, to a fine of five hundred dollars and to imprisonment for six months.

50. The regulations promulgated as Table S under the Merchant Shipping Ordinance, 1899, as substituted and amended by Gazette Notifications No. A. 20 of 1949 and No. A 7 of 1950, are rescinded.

CONDITIONS.

1. This licence shall be kept on board onless required to be deposited

at the Marine Department or Marine Stations pursuant to the Merchant Shipping Ordinance, 1953, and regulations made thereunder.

9. This Licence shall be produced on demand by any Marine, Police or Revenuu Oficer.

3. If this licence is lost, damaged or destroyed a fee of $15 will be charged for a duplicate.

This licence la subject to the provisions of the Merchant Shipping Ordinance, 1963, and the regulations made thereunder.

This vessel shall not engage in unlawful trade or carry illegal merchandise.

Any change of master or owner should be promptly reported to the Marine Department.
