In exercise of the power conferred upon me as a competent authority under Regulation 50 of the Defence Regulations, 1940, I, JOHN JAMES COWPERTHWAITE, Acting Director of Commerce and Industry, hereby make the following Order :-

f. This Order may be cited as the Prohibited Exports Citation. (Amendment) Order, 1956 and shall be read as one with the Prohibited Exports Order, 1946.

The Schedule to the principal Order is hereby rescinded Amend- and the following substituted therefor.

Explanatory Note.

The Probibited Exportä" Order, 1946 (G.N. 238 dated 9th July,

1940) in designed to safeguard the needs of the Colony for goods in respect of which there are supply difficulties, and forbids the export of any article contained in the schedule thereto except in accordance with a permit issued by the Director of Commerce and Industry,

恕 The new schedule replaces that published as G.N, Að of 1955, and emite **Brass, all forms including serap and products manufactured thereof, Butter, Gunny bags and Sulphur." These can no longer be con- sidered in short supply in the Colony.
