PUBLIC HEALTH (ANIMALS AND BIRDS) ORDINANCE. (Chapter 139).

Dairies REGULATIONS, 1955.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Public Health (Animals and Birds) Ordinance, the Governor in Council has made the following regulations-

1. These regulations may be cited as the Dairies Regula- tions, 1936.

2. In these regulations, unless the context otherwise requires- "dairyman" includes any keeper of cows or buffaloes for the purpose of trade in milk, and any occupier of a dairy, and in cases where a dairy is owned by a corporation or company includes the secretary or other person actually managing such dairy;

'disease" means any disease of an infectious or contagious nature, and includes, in the case of cattle, any disease of the udder which is liable to cause contamination of the milk;

"food officer" means any person appointed by the Director on the recommendation of the Deputy Director of Health Services for the purposes of these regulations;

"health officer" includes the Deputy Director of Health Services, any medical officer appointed as a health officer by the Governor, any veterinary officer and any officer for the time being performing the duties of a veterinary officer;

"licensee" means any person licensed under these regulations to

carry on the trade of a dairyman.

3. (1) No person shall carry on the trade of a dairyman except under and in accordance with a valid licence issued by the Director.

(2) On any such licence shall be affixed a photograph of the licensee.

(3) Any such licence shall be valid for such period not exceeding one year as the Director thinks fit, and shall be subject to such conditions endorsed thereon as the Director may determine,

8. (1) Any building used as a dairy shall be registered with the Director during the month of January in each year or, in the case of an initial registration, on or before being so used.

(2) Application for registration shall be made in a form to be supplied by the Director.

(3) A fee of one hundred and twenty dollars shall be payable annually for such registration:
