**"television" means any telegraphic communication of transient visual images by wire or wireless; ".

Nothing contained in any licence granted under the principal Ordinance before the coming into operation of this Ordinance other than an experimental station licence granted under regulation 2 of the Radiocommunication Regulations shall be deemed to authorize or to have authorized the holder of such licence to distribute visual images by means of wires connected to the premises of persons in the Colony,

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Magistrates (Amend- Short title. ment) Ordinance, 1956.
2. Section 37 of the Magistrates Ordinance (hereinafter Repeal and referred to as the principal Ordinance) is repeated and replaced replace by the following-
