20. Section 35 of the principal Ordinance is repealed and replaced by the following-

35. When any person is convicted of any offence under this Ordinance involving a fine the magistrate inflicting such fine may direct, on the application of the Postmaster General or other officer conducting the prosecution, that any part not exceeding one half thereof shall be paid to any person who has given such information as has led to the conviction of the offender or offenders, or, if there are more than one such person, may direct such part to be divided amongst them in such proportion as he may direct.".

21. The principal Ordinance is amended by the addition after sections 38, section 37 of the following new sections→

$9 and 40.

**Offences by cor- porations.

Power to confer exclusive right to maintain a pubile Bervice.

38. (1) Where a body corporate is convicted of an offence against this Ordinance, every person who, at the time of the commission of the offence, was a director or officer of the body corporate shall be deemed to be guilty of that offence unless he proves that the offence was committed without his knowledge, or that he exercised all due diligence to prevent the commis sion of the offence.

(a) Where a body corporate is convicted of an offence against this Ordinance, such body corporate shall be liable to a maximum fine of twice the amount of the fine prescribed in the section or regulation, as the case may be, against which such offence was committed.

39. (1) Any licence granted by the Governor in Council under this Ordinance may, where the Governor in Council deems it desirable in the public interest, confer on the holder of such licence an exclusive right to maintain any service to the public in respect of which such licence is granted.

(a) Notwithstanding anything contained in sec- tion & no licence conferring any such exclusive right shall be revoked except on the breach of any of the conditions therein contained or in default of payment of any consideration payable thereunder.

40. The Governor in Council may by Order exempt any person or class of persons from the opera- tion of all or any of the provisions of this Ordinance.".

22. Any licence purporting to confer an exclusive right to Grant of maintain a service to the public granted before the coming into operation of this Ordinance shall be deemed to have been granted in accordance with the principal Ordinance as amended by this Ordinance.
