(1) The Appropriation for 1954-55 Bi11 GAN

The Financial Secretary to move the First reading of :-

A Bill intituled : in Ordinance to apply a sun not exceeding three

hundred and sighty aight million bro hundred and twenty seven thousand four hundred and twenty four dollara to the Public Service of the financial year anding, the Mat day of March, 1955."

(2) Resolution

Resolution regarding additional pension to Cheung Lan Tong.

The Attorney General to move the following resolution :-

WHERSAS Police Constable Cheung Kwan died on the 15th day of February,

1952, as a result of injuries received

(a) in the actual discharge of his duty; and

(b) without his own default; anul

(c) on account of circumstances apecifically attributable to

the nature of his duty;

AND WHENSAS the said Police Constable was survived by a widow Tong

Tuk Chun and by a daughter Cheung Laz Fong;

AND WHEREAS the Governor in Council granted under subsection (1) of

section 17 of the Pensions Ordinance a pension of $480 a year to the said Wong Yuk Chun while unmarried and of good character and a pension of 860 a year to the said Cheung Lan Fong payable until the 25th day of April, 1972 or until marriage whichever is the earlier;

AND WHEREAS the said Wong Yuk Chun married on the 15th day of March, 1953, and whereas from that date she has not been entitled to" receive the said pension of $480 a year;

AND WHEREAS it is provided by subsection (1) of section 17 of the

Fensions Ordinance that if no pension is granted to the widow of a deceased officer the amount of the pension which may be granted to a deceased officer's child may be double the amount which may be granted to such child if a pension is granted to a widow;

AND WHENDAS it is further provided by subsection (1) of section 17 of the Pensions Ordinance that if a widow to whom a pension is granted dies the pension of a deceased officer's child may as from the date of death of the widow be double the amount which might be granted to such child during the lifetime of the deceased officer's widow;

AD WHEREAS no provision is contained in law for the increase of the

pension of the child of a deceased officer on the marriage of the widow of a deceased officer;
