PUBLIC HEALTH (FOOD) ORDINANCE, (Chapter 140),

RECONSTITUTED Milk and Cream (Amendment) By-Laws, 1954.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 5 of the Public Health (Food) Ordinance, the Urban Council has made the follow- ing by-laws-

1. These by-laws may be cited as the Reconstituted Milk Citation, and Cream (Amendment) By-laws, 1954.

2. By-law 8 of the Reconstituted Milk and Cream By-laws Amendment is amended by the addition after paragraph (3) thereof of the of by-law

8. (Vol. following new paragraph-

X, p. 136).

"(4) The name, words and characters in sub-paragraphs (a), (b), (c) and (d) of paragraph (3) shall be printed on the outer cover, or, if the outer cover be transparent, on a disc or prominent label attached to the approved containers which are not bottles."*

Explanatory Note.

(This mode is not part of the by-laws, but is intended to indicate their general purport).

Under By-law, 8(8) of the Reconstituted Milk and Cream By-laws, the words and Chinese characters as prescribed therein are required to be shown on bottles only.

The amendment is designed to require these words and characters to be shown on other types of approved containers.
