PART V.

MISCELLANEOUS.

16. (1) The Chief Officer may make orders called "fre brigade general orders" not inconsistent with the provisions of-

(a) this Ordinance and any regulations made thereunder; (b) the Stores Regulations of the Government;

(c) Colonial Regulations and General Orders, as modified by this Ordinance and by regulations made thereunder.

(2) Such orders may prescribe or provide for

(u) the control, direction and information of the fire brigade; (b) discipline;

(c) training;

(d) classifications and promotions;

(e) inspections, drills, exercises and parades;

() welfare;

(g) departmental Enance;

(h) buildings, grounds, stores, furniture and equipment;

(i) services to he performed by members;

(i) the manner and form of reports, correspondence and

other records;

(k) the performance of any act which may he necessary for the proper carrying out of the provisions of this Ordinance or any regulations made thereunder or of any other enact. ment or for the discharge of any duty imposed by law on the fire brigade:

() such other matters as may be necessary or expedient for preventing abuse or neglect of duty, for rendering the fire brigade efficient in the discharge of its duties and for carrying out the objects of this Ordinance,

17. Any damage done by the fire brigade in the execution of their duties on the occasion of a fire shall be deemed to be damage by fire within the meaning of any policy of insurance against fire,

18. No member acting bona fide under powers conferred by Protection this Ordinance shall be liable to any action for damages for any of fire act done or omitted to be done by him in connexion with his brigade, duties on the occasion of a fire.

18. (1) On the application of any person, the Chief Officer Special may, if he thinks fit, detail any member to do special dury in duty and upon or about any premises or business or vessel specified by the thereof. applicant.

(2) The applicant shall pay to the Chief Officer for the services of any member so detailed such fees as the Chief Officer may think fit.

(3) All fees so received by the Chief Officer shall be paid by him into the Treasury forthwith to the credit of the Fire Brigade Welfare Fund and be accounted for monthly and shall be recover- able by the Accountant General by action in the District Cour in like manner as other Crown debts.

20. The Governor in Council may by regulation prescribe or Power ta provide forn

(a) discipline and punishment of members;

(b) the administration of the Fire Brigade Welfare Fund;

(c) description of uniforms and equipment to be provided;

(J) such other matters as may be necessary or expedient for rendering the fire brigade efficient in the discharge of their duties

(e) generally for carrying into effect the provisions of the Ordinance in relation to any matter, whether similar or not to those in this section mentioned, as to which it may be convenient to make regulations.

31. (1) The provisions contained in the First, Second and Contents af Third Schedules may be amended, cancelled or replaced by Schedules. regulations made by the Governor in Council,
