An Ordinance to amend and consolidate the law relating to
prisons and persons employed therein.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the
advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Prisons Ordinance, Short title.

2. In this Ordinance-
Inter- pretation.
"Chief Officer" means a senior officer of the Prisons Department
holding the rank of chief officer; "Commissioner" means the Commissioner of Prisons of the
Colony or an Assistant Commissioner;
"other person employed in the prisons" includes executive officers, clerks, storekeepers, school masters, master tailors, trade instructors, installation mechanics, Sitters, office
