NOW, THEREFORE, Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers vested in Her by subsection (1) of section seven hundred and thirty-five of the said Act, and all other powers enabling Her in that behalf, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows-

1. This Order may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Confirmation of Legislation) (Hong Kong) Order in Council, 1953, and shall come into operation on the ninth day of October, 1953.

2. The Ordinance is hereby confirmed.

3. The Orders in Council made on the tenth day of August, 1903(c), and the twenty-eighth day of July, 1938(d), (which con- firmed certain Ordinances passed by the legislature of the Colony of Hong Kong for the repeal of which provision is made by the Ordinance) shall be revoked with effect from the day on which the Ordinance shall come into operation.

By this Order the Queen in Council. in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by saction 735 (1) of the Merchant Shipping Act. 1894, confirmu the Merchant Shipping Ordinance, 1953, of the Colony of Hong Kong, br which, infer alia, certain previsions of that Act relating to ships registered in the Colony are repealed.
