(b) The notice shall be a notice that such a certificate as is mentioned in paragraph (2) of regulation 2 has been given in respect of the land specified in the notice and calling upon the owner within one month from the date it was affixed to nominate a person to serve on a board to determine the amount of compensation to be paid. The notice shall in the case of a notice affixed to the land as is hereinafter mentioned state the date upon which it was so affixed.
(c) The notice shall be in English and Chinese and shall be affixed at or near the land thereby affected and shall be also published in the Gazette either before or after such affixing.
(d) A notice published and served or affixed under this section shall be deemed to be a notice to the owner of the land and every person interested in the land or having any right or easement therein.
4. Any person who (a) obstructs any person authorized by the Chairman of the Urban Council to affix notices hereunder in the carrying out of such duty; or (b) removes, destroys or defaces any such notice shall be guilty of an offence Penalty: a fine of five hundred dollars or imprisonment for three months.

The recent fire at Tung Tau Village hes rendered numerous persona homeless. It is essential that as many of such persons as possible should be re-housed as rapidly as possible in circumstances which will minimize so far as compatible with the need for immediate action the danger of another fire and dangers to public health. This has created a situation in which it is considered desirable in the public interest that sections 4 and 5 of the Crown Lands Resumption Ordinance, Cap. 124, should be modified by the provisions of these regulations. This will basten resumption and re-settlement can then be effected under the Emergency (Resettlement) Regulations, 1952.

In exercise of the power conferred by section 2 of the Emergency Regulations Ordinance the Governor in Council has made the following regulations-
REGULATIONS.
1. These regulations may be cited as the Emergency Citation. (Reseulement Areas) Regulations, 1957.

In these regulations- "authorized officer" means any officer appointed under section $
of the Urban Council Ordinance ; "permittee' includes a person whose permit has been lawfully
cancelled;
"premises" means a piece of Crown land in a resettlement area which has been made the subject matter of a permit granted pursuant to these regulations together where the context per- mits with any building or structure erected thereon whether erected in accordance with such permit or not;
