office by a General of The Salvation Army it shall be deemed to be conclusive in evidence that the person named in such certified copy! or copies is the person duly authorized to exercise the office of The General for the time being of The Salvation Army until the recording and lodging of a similar certified copy or copies ar aforesaid.

8. The General for the time being of The Salvation Army) shall have power to appoint an Attorney for such time and purposes and with such powers as may be stated in the power of attorney and a notarially certified copy of the said power of attorney shall be lodged at the office of the Colonial Secretary and the donee of the said power of attorney shall be deemed to be the duly authorized Attorney of The General for the time being of The Salvation Army until the recording and lodging of subsequent and similarly certified copy power of attbritey.

9. Nothing in this Ordinance shall affect or be deemed to affect the rights of His Majesty the King, His Heirs and Successors, or the rights of any body politic or corporate any other person or persons, except such as are mentioned La Ordinance and those claiming by, from or under them.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the

advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof;

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Law Reform Short title. (Miscellaneous Provisions) Ordinance, 1951,

(1) Subject to the provisions of this section, on the death of any person after the commencement of this Ordinance all causes of action subsisting against or vested in him shall survive against, camned. or, as the case may be, for the benefit of, his estate: Provided Gen. 2. that this subsection shall not apply to causes of action for defama- 6. 41, 5, 1. tion or seduction or for inducing one spouse to leave or remain apart from the other or to claims for damages on the ground of adultery.
