BY His Excellency Sir ALEXANDER WILLIAM GEORGE Harper GrANTHAM, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hong Kong and its Dependencies and Vice-Admiral of the same,
WHEREAS by the thirty-seventh section of the Immigrants Control Ordinance, 1949 (Ordinance No. 4 of 1949), it is provided that the anid Ordinance shall come into force ou such day as the Governor shall notify by proclamation in the Gazette.

NOW THEREFORE I, the said Sir ALEXANDER WILLIAM GEORGE IIERDER GRANTHAM, do hereby PROCLAIM that the Ordinance shall come into force on the first day of April, 1949.
GIVEN under my hand and the Public Seal of the Colony of Hong Kong this twenty-sixth day of March, 1949.
