An Ordinance to amend the Emergency Regulations Ordinance,

1922.

Bs it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof:

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Emergency Regula- Short dile. tions (Amendment) Ordinance, 1949, and shall he read as one with the Emergency Regulations Ordinance, 1922, hereinafter Ordinance referred to as the principal Ordinance.

Section 2 of the principal Ordinance is hereby amended Amendment (a) by the deletion of all words in the second, third and of the fourth lines of sub-section (2) aubsequent to the word "may" in principal the second line thereof and the substitution therefor of the words Ordinance. "provide for"';

(b) by the deletion of paragraphs (#), (k) and (2) from sub-section (2) thereof and by the insertion in lien thereof of the following additional paragraphs

"(g) amending any enactment, suspending the operation of any enactment and applying any enactment with or without modification;

(4) authorising the entry and search of premises;

(i) empowering such authorities or persons as may be specified in the regulations to make orders and rules and to make or issue notices, licences, permits, certificates or other documents for the purposes of the regulations;
