Au Ordinance to amend the New Territoriça Regulation Ordinance, 1910, to muke better provision for the administration of the New Territories and for the style and functions of the officers charged with the administration thereof or with the adminia- tration therein of other provisions of law,

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof:
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the New Territories short tide. (Administration) Ordinance, 1948.
2. The New Territories Regulation Ordinance, 1910, is Amendment hereby amended→→
of Ordinance No. 34 of
(a) by the substitution for the interpretation of 199 District Officer" of the following:

(8) by the insertion of a new section 3.A as follows: Addition
3A. (1) Without prejudice to any other provision section 3A. of law the Governor may and shall be deemed alwaya to have had power to appoint a District Commissioner and such number of District Officers and Assistant District Officers as he may from time to time consider or have considered necessary for the administration of the New Territories.
