An Ordinance to amend the Juvenile Offenders Ordinance,

1932.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:---

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Juvenile short title.

Offenders (Amendment) Ordinance, 1947.

2. Section 9 of the Juvenile Offenders Ordinance, 1932, is hereby amended:

(a) by the insertion immediately after the word "person" 12" in the first line of sub-section (2) of the words "'or any person who in the opinion of the Court has attained the age of sixteen years but has not attained the age of twenty-one years"'; and

(b) by the insertion at the end of sub-section (3) of the words "The Court by which a probation order is made shall furnish to the offender a notice in writing in a language understood by the offender stating in simple terms the conditions be is required to observe.";

(c) by the insertion immediately after the words "with respect to appearing in the fourth line of sub-section (4) of the word and symbol "* residence," and by the substitution of the word "'offender' for the words "child or young person" appearing in the fourth, fifth and seventh lines of the said sub-section.
