Au Ordinance to amend the Summary Offences Ordinance,

1932.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Summary abort title. Offences Amendment Ordinance, 1946.

Addition of new section

2. The following additional section shall be added immediately after section 18 of the Summary Offences to Ord. No. Ordinance, 1932:-

18A.(1) Every person who shall import or have in his possession or custody an imitation fire- arm shall be liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding three months or to a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars.

(2) Provided always that possession by a juvenile shall not constitute an offence and provided also that no prosecution for an offence against this section shall be commenced without the consent of the Attorney General.

(8) It shall be lawful for a Magistrate upon the request in writing of the Commissioner of Police to order that any imitation firearm be destroyed by the Police whether any person has been or could be cant- victed of any offence against this section or not.
