Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof as follows:-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the lawnbrokers Short Tiele. Amendment Ordinance, 1946.

2. Section 16 of the Pawnbrokers Ordinance, 1930, is Amendment hereby amended by repealing the word "eight" in the third race line thereof and by substituting therefor the word "four", 120, ». 15. and by repealing the word "twelve' in the fifth line thereof and by substituting therefor the word "six".
3. Section 20 of the Pawnbrokers Ordinance, 1980, ie Amendment hereby amended by repealing the word "eight" and the word No. 16 of "twelve in the proviso thereto, and by substituting therefor 1930, ■. 20. the word "four" and the word "six'' respectively.
4. Nothing in this Ordinance contained shall affect the Baving. provisions of the Puwabrokers Ordinance, 1930, so far as they apply to the pawning of any goods pawned prior to the coming into operation of this Orilinance.

5. As from the 31st day of October, 1947, or from Ordinance such later date as the Governor in Covacil may by arder to remain in specify, this Ordinance eball cease to have effect save as mite regards any transactions entered into on or before such date period. or later date as the case may be.
