PROCLAMATION.

By His Excellency NORMAN LOCKHART SMITH, Esquire, Companion of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Officer Administering the Government of the Colony of Hong Kong and its Dependencies and Vice- Admiral of the same.
WHEREAS by Section ( of Ordinance No. 10 of 1886. intituled the Peace Preservation Ordinance, 1886, it is provided among other things that :--
WHENEVER it appears to be necessary for the preservation of the public peace, it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council to declare, by proclamation, that the Colony shall be subject to the following provisions of the said Ordinance;
AND WHEREAS it appears to me in Executive Council that such necessity exists:
NOW THEREFORs I, the said NORMAN LOCKHART SMITH, do hereby DECLARE AND PROCLAIM that the Colony shall be subject to the provisions of sections 7, 8, 9, 11 12, 12A and 14 of the Peace Preservation Ordinance, 1886.
Given under my hand and the public Seal of the Colony, at Victoria, Hong Kong, this 11th day of July, 1940.
