PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS provision was made by the Ordinances and Regulations of Hong Kong (1937 edition) Ordinance, 1936, Ordinance No. 51 of 1936, for the preparation of a new edition of the Ordinances and a new edition of the Regulations of the Colony:

AND WHEREAS the Second Volume of the said edition of the Ordinances of the Colony is now completed and has been published:

AND WHEREAS it is provided in section 7 of the Law Bevision Ordinance, 1939, that the said Ordinance shall come into operation by proclamation of the Governor, which shall not be issued before the second of the proclamations referred to in section 9 (2) of Ordinance No. 51 of 1936, and which may form part of such proclamation :

NOW THEREFORE I, Sir GEOFFRY ALEXANDER STAFFORD NORTHCOTE, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hong Kong and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same, do hereby PROCLAIM that the said Second Volume of the said edition of the Ordinances of the Colony was laid before the Legislative Council on the 1st day of September, 1939, and was approved by the said Council and that the Law Revision Ordinance, 1939, shall come into operation on the 2nd day of September, 1939.
