AND WHEREAS on the 1st April, 1937, Burma ceased to be part of Lodia, and it is expedient to declare that Part II of the Fugitive Offenders Act, 1881, shall apply to British Burma:
NOW, THEREFORE, His Majesty, by virtue of the Powers in this behalf by the Fugitive Offenders Acts 1881 and 1815 and otherwise in His Majesty vested, is pleased, by and with the advice of Hie Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows ——
(1) The Principal Order shall, with effect from the ist April, 1937, be read and construed as if British Barma were included in the group of British Possessions and Protected Status mentioned in Article (1) of the said Order:
(2) The Governor-General of India, and the Governora of Burma, Coylon, Uong Kong, and the Straits Settlements shall cause this Oniler to be proclaimed in the Territories and Colonies under their respüctive Governments :
(3) The Governor, as defined in the Straits Settlements and Protected States Fugitive Offendere Orders in Council, 1916, 1917 and 1937 shall cause this Order to be proclaimed in the Protected State in which he exercises the functions of Governor for the purposes of the Fugitive Offenders Acts, 1881 and 1915.
And the Most Honourable the Marquess of Zerland and the Right Honourable WILLIAM Okmser-Core, two of His Majesty's Principal Secretaries of State are to give the necessary directions herein nccordingly.
