PROCLAMATION,

Dy His Excellency Sir RRISALE EDWARD Sruans Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George Governor and Commander-in- Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies and Vice-Admiral of the same :

Whereas by section 12 of the Volunteer Ordinance 1920 it is enacted that the Governor may in case of great national emergency or in case of actual or apprehended invasion of or attack on the Colony or in case of serious local disturbance by Proclaina- tion call out any volunteer corps for actual military service and Whereas it is also enacted by the aforesaid section that the period of such service shall continne so long as the Governor may consider necessary and shall ent'only by order of the Governor :

And whoreas the Hongkong Volunteer Defence Corps was called out for actual military service by auch proclaination on the 21st day of June, 1920 :

And whorens it appears to that it is unnecessary that the period of such service should continue after the date hereof:

Now therefore 1 Sir REGINALD Edward Stuous Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George Governor and Commander-in- Chief of the Colony of Hougkong and its Dependencies and Vice Admiral of the same do bereby urder that the period of such service shall come to an end at midnight on the 5th day of August, 1925,
