PROCLAMATION,
Governor.
By His Excellency Sir RaorsALO Euwann Srumus, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor sud Commander-in- Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same.
Whorous by the second section of the Commissiouers. Powers Onlisauce, 1886, it is enacted that the Governor in Council shall have power to nominate nad uppoint Com missioners under the public seal for the purpose of instituting, making, und conducting any enquiry that may be deemed silviauble and for reporting thereon:"
And Whereas the Governor in Council las deemed it advisable that an enquiry should be instituted, made, and conducted into the position and working of the University of Hongkong:
Now I. Sir Ragusa Eoward Stuabs. Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commurfer-in-Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby appoint you -
The Howumble Mr. Josera Houston Keur, K.O., C.B.E.
The Honourable Mr. Baxest HAMILTON Swarp, K.C., O.B.E. The Honorable Mr. EowARD ALEXANDER Frviso.
The Honourables Mr. Jony Jousstose,
Mr. SEES WAN-19ó.
to be Comunissioners for the purpose of instituting, making, and conducting such enquiry:
And I do also appoint you, the said Mr. ERNEST HAMILTON SHARP, K.C., 0.B.E., to be Chairman of the sail Commissioners :
And I do also appoint Mr. Nogs. BARNARD TEESDALK MACKINTOSH, Registrar of the University of Hongkong, to be Secretary to the said Commissioners:
And I do also order and direct that for all or any of the purposes of the said enquiry Four Commissioners inclusive of the Chairman shall be and constitute a quorumu:
And I do further, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, order and direct that the said Commissioners shall have all the powers, rights, and privileges set out in the third section of the said Ordinance :
