PROCLAMATION.
No. 1.
Governor.
By His Excellency Sir FRANCIS HENRY MAY Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George Governor and Commander-in- Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies and Vice-Admiral of the same;
Whereas by the Geneva Convention Act 1911 it was enacted that the said Act should extend to His Majesty's possessions outside the United Kingdom subject to such necessary adaptations as might be made by Order in Connell :
And whereas by an Order of His Majesty in Council made on the 23rd day of October 1917 and intituled the Geneva Convention Act 1911 (Colonies) Order in Council 1917 it was provided that the adaptations therein specified should be made in the said Act with regard to its application to all Colonies other than His Majesty's Self-governing Domi- nions:
And whereas by the said Order it was provided that the said Order should come into force in each Colony affected thereby on a date to be fixed by the Governor :
NOW THEREFORE I Sir FRANCIS HENRY May Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George Governor and Commander-in- Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies and Vice-Admiral of the same in pursuance of the authority vested in me by the said Order do hereby proclaim that the said Order shall come into force in this Colony on the 1st day of February 1918.
