PROCLAMATION.

By His Excellency Sir Matthew NaTEAN, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, and Vice-Adiniral of the zame.
Whereas, by Regulation No. 1 of the Quarantine Regulations made by the Governor in Council on the 17th day of June, 1901, under section 23 of Ordinance No. 10 of 1899, it is provided that the term "port of place at which any infectious or contagious disease prevailed" menne a part or places proclaimed to be such by Owler of the Governor in Courici, published in the Gazette, from the date of such Prodanation :
And whereas the sail Quarantine Regulations were duly notified to take affect as from the 20th day of June, 1903;
And whereas His Excellency the Grauvernor in Council has ordered that Shanghai should be pro- claimed as a port or place at which an infectious or contagious disease prevails ;
Now, therefore, 1, Sir Matthew NATHAN, Kuight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colouy of Hongkong and its Dependencies, and Vice Admiral of the same, do hereby, with the advice of the Executive Council, proclaim that Shanghai is a port or place at which an infectious or contagious disease prevails,
