69. Dredging Foreshores:-The working cost and capacity of the two Government Grab Dredgers during the year were as follows:-

Of the total of 89,349.95 cube yards of silt removed, 76,802 cube yards were dredged from the foreshores and in maintaining depth of water within Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter, Harbour of Refuge at Yaumati, and alongside Public Piers; 2,595.14 cube yards were dredged on behalf of the Admiralty; whilst 9,952.81 cube yards were dredged in connection with the formation of bed for the New Cross Harbour Water Mains, the cost of which was met by Special Warrant No. 86 of 1937. 6,879.28 cube yards of silt dredged were utilized in covering scavenging refuse dumped at Kun Tong.
