(b) The total amount of fees collected during the year in the New Territories was $3,095.77, being $711.30 for permits in the Southern District and $1,202.37 for yearly, $1,088.30 for five yearly, $31.80 for ten yearly and $62.00 for twenty-one yearly permits in the Northern District.
13. Prospecting and Mining Licenses.-Two new mining and two new prospecting licenses were issued during the year.

14. A staff of one Chief Draughtsman and fifteen Chinese Draughtsmen was employed during the year, and 7,650 plans as detailed below were prepared in connection with 49 land sales, 869 leases and miscellaneous permits, exchanges, etc.
